Maintenance schedule
Doing a quick and simple maintenance check on your Honda robotic mower every week is the best way to catch problems early. This includes checking and cleaning areas such as the blades, wheels, docking station and drain hole. Please refer to your user manual to familiarise yourself with these tasks. Once a year, take your Miimo to your Honda dealer for a service, ideally before the growing season. Your dealer will check that your mower is safe and fully functional, ready to care for your lawn throughout the warmer months.
Safety precautions
Before you begin any maintenance tasks, make sure your mower is switched off. Protect your hands with an appropriate pair of work gloves. Remove the Miimo from the docking station before beginning any cleaning or maintenance procedures, and ensure your working area is clear of any clutter or trip hazards. How to clean your robotic mower

Checking your lawnmower blades
Blades need to be kept sharp for optimal performance, so the next step is to check the condition of the blades and blade disc. Use a dry brush or scraper to clear away any dried-on grass clippings, making sure not to tilt the mower any further than 90 degrees to prevent grass clippings or fluid falling inside your robotic mower. Check that the blades have not become worn, damaged or unable to turn. Take care not to injure yourself on the blades.
When to replace the blades of your Miimo
Typically, the lifespan of the blades is around 160 hours, but depending on grass conditions, they may need replacing earlier, especially in spring. Not sure if your blades need replacing? Take a look at your lawn. Sharp mower blades will cut through each blade of grass cleanly. If the tips of your grass looks like they’ve been split into white fibres, that’s a good sign that the blades are blunt and need replacing.
